ODBDSLC #180 - Circle or Square It

Happy Tuesday everyone!! The Our Daily Bread Designs Shining the Light Challenge is to create a card with more than three circles or squares, please join us here for all of the details.

When contemplating this challenge, this adorable little chickadee from the ODBD You Will Take Refuge set came to mind, I needed a sentiment that would fit on these small squares, so I pulled out a greeting from the ODBD Holly Wreath set. The bird was colored with Copics and all of the designer paper from the ODBD Christmas Paper Collection 2013 was embossed, distressed and sponged. The squares were all framed with a small Spellbinders scalloped square and a flourish die from the ODBD Custom Fancy Foilage Die set was placed behind the greeting with a twine bow and cherry button.

Friends of Speedy TV challenge #100! - Anything Goes!

The Friends of Speedy TV challenge this week is Anything Goes!, join us here for a chance to win a stamp set and for all of the details on the latest challenge.

A challenge where anything goes sounded very exciting, but it made my mind whirl with all of the possibilities! I decided to go away from my normal, which is tons of color and coloring, and brought out this adorable lady from the Mark's Finest Papers - Out on the Town set. I took her to my son and asked if I could color her, but he said no, she looked great as is, sigh, no coloring! I found this card stock paper at Michaels and let it do all the work, just doing some distressing and sponging. I cut the Cheery Lynn flourish so that it would show on both sides of the image and added a large scallop trim.

I wanted another chance to to use this beautiful wreath, this time I embossed it in silver on light blue and layered a greeting on top with a couple circle dies underneath as well as a Cheery Lynn doily. The Fanciful Flourish was cut in two and placed underneath. The background was reverse embossed by inking the embossing folder and I added a seam binding ribbon bow with a crystal button.

Friends of Speedy TV challenge #99 - Thanksgiving

The Friends of Speedy TV challenge this week is to make a Thanksgiving card, join us here for a chance to win a stamp set and all of the details.

For my Thanksgiving card, I pulled out this wonderful leaf from the MFP Oh Happy Day set and a sentiment from the Marsh Silhouettes set. The leaves were heat embossed and my original intention was to watercolor them, but I really liked them natural and that's the way they stayed. Each of the layers was distressed and sponged.

ODBDSLC #177 - Inspired by a Song or Music

Happy Tuesday everyone!! The Our Daily Bread Designs Shining the Light Challenge is to create a card inspired by a song or music, please join us here for all of the details.

My card speaks for itself on which song I chose, this set couldn't be more perfect!! I really wanted to use an unusual Christmas color for this beautiful nativity and thought I would add just a touch of lavendar, ok, maybe a lot!! This precious holy family was heat embossed and watercolored with distress markers for a pastel look, I think I'm having a 90's flashback because I'm starting to love pastels again!

Other Supplies: Spellbinder dies, embossing folders, foam tape, distress markers, water pen.

Friends of Speedy TV challenge #97 - Sympathy Card

The Friends of Speedy TV challenge this week is to make a Sympathy card, join us here for a chance to win a stamp set and all of the details.

For my sympathy card I chose the colors Steel Blue and Concord Grape, along with black accents. The Mark's Finest Papers Marsh Silhouettes set has a great sympathy sentiment so I sponged a sky with purple and orange and stamped the reeds in grey and the duck in black. The background was reverse embossed by inking the embossing folder and I added a seam binding bow with grey button.
