ODBDSLC217 - Holiday Card Part 2

The Shining the Light challenge at Our Daily Bread Designs this week is to make a holiday card.  Join us here for all of the details.

For my second holiday card I started with wonderful DP from the new ODBD Christmas Collection and gave it some distressing.  The star bouquet in the top corner was made with ODBD Sparkling Stars, which were also distressed and sponged and I intertwined a flourish.  The Wisemen image was heat embossed and colored with SU markers and layered on a scalloped oval SB die with corregated cardstock and a lace border.  I made a pastel poinsettia to go with the dp by cutting out the poinsettias in cream cardstock and sponging them with ink and adding glitter glue to the center.

ODBD Stamps Used:  We Three Kings
ODBD Papers Used: Christmas Collection 2014

Other Supplies: Spellbinder scalloped oval, foam tape,  embossing folders, heat embossing, Stampin Up markers, glitter glue, water pen.

ODBDSLC217 - Holiday Card

The Shining the Light challenge at Our Daily Bread Designs this week is to make a holiday card.  Join us here for all of the details.

This holiday card was so easy, I just let this beautiful ODBD paper do all the work!  I heat embossed this lovely ODBD star and colored with water based marker and cut out with the Splendous Stars die, it made the gorgeous piercing that you see, this was layered on a flourish and the song sentiment was sponged and placed on my favorite doily from the Doily Dies set. I'm very fond of dry embossing, so I added a strip of black embossed paper behind.

ODBD Stamps Used:  Snowflake Stars
ODBD Papers Used: Christmas Collection 2014

Other Supplies: Spellbinder circle, foam tape,  embossing folder, heat embossing, re inkers, water pen.

Friends of Speedy TV challenge #144 - Movement Card

The Friends of Speedy TV challenge this week is make a movement card.  Join us here for a chance to win a stamp set and for all of the details on the latest challenge.

I fell back on an old standby that I learned to make in first grade for my motion card.  I folded two strips of paper to make a spring for my hummingbird, so that he will pop out when he comes out of the envelope and look like he's hovering near the pretty new chrysanthemum from Mark's Finest Papers.  The images were heat embossed and water colored with re inkers and a gingham ribbon and knot added along the bottom.

ODBDSLC216 - Scripture Inspiration

The Shining the Light challenge at Our Daily Bread Designs this week is a scripture inspiration challenge.  Join us here for all of the details.

Our scripture verse inspiration is Ecclesiastes 3:1

For every thing there is a season and a time for every purpose under heaven.

Obviously, I chose Christmas as my season, but I also used this wonderful verse from Isaiah for the front of my card which goes with verse 2 of Ecc. 3 which says, 'A time to be born, a time to die', and nothing illustrates that more beautifully than the birth of Jesus, who was born to die for our salvation! Wow, the precious gift of Jesus, who came as a sacrifice so that we can have eternal life!!

I chose the lovely new image by Our Daily Bread Designs, Mother and Child Ornament layered on the ODBD doily die,  and added the new poinsettia dies, and beautiful paper from the ODBD Blushing Rose Collection.  The wonderful verse is from the ODBD Joy to the World stamp set.
